Pharmacist


Duties and Responsibilities;
A Pharmacist prepares prescriptions that are written from physicians, dentists, and practitioners for patients. They are to review the prescriptions to validate their accuracy and then prepare the medication. For measuring an accurate prescription pharmacist must weigh, measure, and mixing drugs. When pharmacist is done they are giving to the customers and patients.  A Pharmacist also helps the patients with any questions they might have, about their prescriptions or drugs being sold over the counter.
Pharmacists work in hospitals, clinics, health departments, universities, groceries, drug and discount stores. Pharmacists who work in stores need to be aware of health supplies available in the store so they do not direct customers into a drug addiction.
Salary;
 $33,000-$51,000
Education:
Those interested in becoming a pharmacists must have completed high school courses such as a (AP or IB) English, science and math . All students must graduate from college in order to become a pharmacist. Most pharmacy schools require for applicants to take the pharmacy college admission Test (PACAT), others require up to two years of pre-Pharmacy education. There are other schools that will admit students directly from school. It usually takes at least five years to earn a pharmacy degree, and to earn a doctor of pharmacy it requires at least six years.
Reflection:

I wouldn’t take consideration in becoming a pharmacist, but I would definitely consider being a pharmacist technician it is something that I will be interested in taking.

Perfusionist 

Duties and Responsibilities :  
Their Responsibilities are to operate circulation equipment during medical situations , when a patient need assistance with artificially replace the patient s  circulatory or respiratory functions . This is usually happens during  heart surgery or similar operations . Their duties is also to control temperature of a patient during surgery .  This includes :
  •  Operating heart-lung machines 
  • Administrating some types of anesthesia 
  • Administering some types of medication  
Salary :
$50,000

Education :
It is required  that you must completed high school courses such as Biology and chemistry , and a diploma . This is required in order to be accepted in training programs . Admissions preference is given to students with college science work or experience in respiratory therapy and medical terminology. 
Training programs are giving by academic health centers and medical schools or universities . The are hands on , practical training . this course can include 150 procedures to include 20 pediatric and infant cases .

Reflection :
 This sounds like and interesting career . Yet i don't see myself in this field . It is something that im not interested in .

Patient Representative

 Duties and Responsibilities :
A Patient Representative work for in a health care administrators to address patients concerns and special needs .Patient Representatives also evaluate patients satisfactions , collect information , inform themselves from any complaints , and a patients satisfaction . They are also to work in departments that resolve a patients problem , they are also to educate staff . 
Patients Representatives usually work in hospitals , nursing  homes , long-term facilities, or in  public health agencies .  

Salary : 
$20,000-$40,000

Education ; 
Student must have completed courses such courses such as science, math , and English in High school .  
It is Required , but most employers prefer for a college graduate with a background of health or social services . It is also required to experience or course work in conflict resolution . 

Reflection : 
In this career it would be something that i wouldn't take in consideration , It is a career that i im not really interested in .

Optical laboratory technician.



Duties and responsibilities: 
optical laboratory technicians grind and fit eye glasses lenses into frames according to prescriptions written by ophthalmologists or optometrists. Technicians set lens grinding machine so that lens blanks are ground and polished. They then fit the polished lenses into eye glasses frames and, depending upon where they work, fit the frames to the patients, some ophthalmic technician work in optical laboratories or for optometrists or ophthalmologists. Many work in retail stores that have optical departments.
Average salary : 
$15,000 - $20,000

Educational requirements: 
a high diploma or GED certificate is needed to begin optical laboratory training. Training programs last between six months and one year and are provided by vocational schools and community colleges. Some retail store optical departments provide on-the-job training.

Reflection : 
In my opinion i wouldn't like to do this as a career , it is not the field that im not interested .

Osteopathic Physician , D.O.

(D.O.= Doctor Of )

Duties and Responsibilities : 

Osteopathic Physician treat inguries and diseases . They also do the practice in all branches of medicine and surgery like allopathic Physicians (M.D. s ) that differ from emphasizing the importance of the musculoketal system , holistic medicine. proper nutrition , and environmental factors in maintain good health . Unlike Osteopaths use hands-on approach to medicine and are frequently manipulate or palpate a part of diagnosis and treatment .Osteopathic mainly work in hospitals or private practice. The majority of Osteopathic are general practitioners , family practitioners , and emergency medicine specialists .


Salary ; $110,000

Education ;
 To become an Osteopathic Physicians you must of taken courses in your high school years including (AP or IB courses ) also math , science , and English . all your three to four year you must attend a medicals school . For undergraduates they are required to admissions in all medical schools . the admission includes taking a one year basic of chemistry , one year of organic chemistry , one year of biology , and a one year of physics. Some medicals schools require course work in calculus , English , the humanities , or social science . They are also to take an internship before having the practice of osteopathic physicians . Also a three- year  residency in tier specialty .

Reflection :
 In My opinion is something i am not interested in doing . I don't really see me doing this in my future seem a lot of time consuming .

Optometrist 


Duties & Responsibilities :  
 An  Optometrist responsibility is to treat a pastiness vision .  They are to treat and diagnose a patients problem and write them a prescription . They prescribe corrective eyeglasses , contact lenses , or vision therapy . some specialize in industrial vision safety , treatment , of vision related learning disabilities and environmental vision care . Optometrist are commonly self employed , although some work in hospitals , government agencies , optical manufactures or universities .


Average salary : 
$78,000

Educational Requirements :

To become a Optometrist you must have completed course such as AP or IB in Math , science , & English in high school . It is required to have at least two years of college for entering as a optometrist . Optometrist school takes about four years required .Before  obtaining a degree  of doctor of Optometry  , you must have passed  the state exams before starting to practice .  

Reflection ; 
In my opinion i wouldn't like to be in this career , seem like you have to be very patient  and i myself isn't really patient . I personally wouldn't like to be a Optometrist .

Orthotist 

Duties and Responsibilities :  
 Their duties are to work with  patients that need extra help on support for their muscles , spine , or limbs . Orthotist also design , make and fit apparatus made of plastic , wood , leather , and metal that helps to align limbs that grow in crooked manner . Orthotist work closely with physicians , that give a patient a prescription for an orthotist device . Physicians can also call Orthotist to plan and design a device needed for a patient . Orthotist can work in clinics, or other private business . 

Average Salary : 

$25.000- $40,000

Educational Requirements : 
In order to become an Orthotist you must complete courses such as math , science , and English during high school . Some colleges and universities offer a bachelor degree , These programs include courses in anatomy, Physics , mathematics , mechanical drawing , and the practice  use of materials used for the making of devices . After a year of experience  , you can apply for a certification . 

Reflection :  In my opinion this sounds like a interesting career . Although in my opinion i don't really seem to have an interest in this career . It isn't something that i would like to be in the future , or persueing this as a career in the future .

Ophthalmologists

Duties and Responsibilities;
Their responsibilities are to specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They are to treat patients with vision problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglasses lenses.  If it is necessary, they are also to perform eye surgery. For most ophthalmologists work in private practices, and work in hospitals, clinics or some perform research.

Salary:
 $90,000-$150,000

Education:
Physicians are the only one who may be able to study to become a Ophthalmologists. Once completing medical school and an internship, you must complete a three to Five year residency in an approved ophthalmology program. Once completing the residency program they are to pass an exam to be certified.

Reflection:

In this kind of study I don’t really see myself enjoying this as a career choice. It is really just something that I wouldn't choose to do as a career.
